The Beartooth Mine access bridge Denny, CA. Talk about a scary drive…
Beartooth Mine access bridge collapsed a year and a half after we stopped driving over it.
I used to drive across this bridge in the 1970’s to get to my cabin at the McAtee Bar which was a placer mine. It was built by Bill Meadows, an old timer who worked the mine, which was a hardrock mine located about a mile up the mountain.
Thank you for your comment, Sue.
If you drove across this bridge it had to be in the 1960’s as it collapsed in 1969. I do believe Bill Meadows built another after we left.
